Every once in awhile we get to work a wedding at a special location. Stefani & Carlos’ vintage/metropolitan wedding was one of those. We were set up in a large room in Los Angeles’ Union Station, normally set up for overflow ticket queues. Dashing Events provided uplighting, pin spot lighting, monogram lighting, and photo booth services.

The room had high ceilings, dark marbled floors and walls, tall arching windows with iron framing that brought in natural sunlight during the afternoon—a stunning aesthetic reminiscent of the early years of metropolitan Los Angeles.

The wedding decor matched the grand venue and also showcased the personalities of the bride and groom—hints of modern meets vintage. As if to say “Our parents lived here, we grew up here, and our kids will too. This is home.”

The laser cut custom gobo design lighting on the open walls and colored uplighting gave shape and distinction to the enormous, empty ceiling.

Our favorite moment of the event was when a large family wanted to get a group picture of everyone in funny hats and wigs, so they brought their grandmother (who was weelchair-bound) and centered her in the shot with all her family around her.
