This Persian / American wedding took place at the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel, which is actually in the city of Dana Point. 5-Star hotel boasts prime ocean views, lush green landscaping, and Greko-Roman architecture.
The ceremony took place on the lawn at a safe distance from the ocean. Although it didn’t have the ocean view, it had the benefit of having some shade from the hotel, and not being too windy. The PA system was provided by PSAV (the hotel’s designated audio / visual department), whileDJO play music for guest arrival, processional, and recessional. We combined a 50% American and 50% Persian selection for the ceremony songs to represent both families, as requested by the bride and groom.
The cocktail hour took place on the Pavillion Terrace with a view of the ocean, during the very beautful sunset. They hosted an open bar, while Dashing Events entertained guests with the Great Gatsby themed photo booth, which turned out to be a huge hit among the wedding party. The reception was arranged with family-style long rectangular tables; one long table for the groom’s friend and famliy, and another for the bride’s friends and family. This was our first wedding that did not have any round tables! As such, it was a pleasant change of style and design, and it seemed to work quite nicely for the guests.
Dancing began with the bride and groom’s first slow dance, which we custom-mixed to suite their diverse music and dancing styles, including a slow dance, persian song, and salsa. They key to it’s success was the bride & groom’s preparation, and the short & sweet choreography. We took it from there with a night of fun and dancing, catering to the guests with our multi-ethnic DJ, DJO, who played the best of English, Persian, and International music for the Iranian, American / Italian crowd.
